# Treasury System

The Treasury system exists to facilitate how funds are dispersed, after voting, in line with the approved proposal fund requests and other administrative actions. The system, which currently runs on a smart contract framework, and approved budgets, are signed off before withdrawals.

Since the Treasury is available to fund community projects, DReps have a role to play to control treasury spending, by voting responsibly on treasury withdrawals, having a clear view of current balance, expected inflows and outflows, and how different spending paths affect runway.
