# The GovTool Dashboard

Access and perform various governance functions from the main Govtool dashboard.

## What is Cardano GovTool?

Cardano govtool is one of the key governance tools maintained by the Intersect committee and [OSC Governance Working Group](https://groups.docs.intersectmbo.org/groups-overview/working-groups/governance-tools-working-group) and controlled by the Cardano community.

govtool allows community participants to discuss, contribute and feature improvements from the Cardano community.

* Delegation - any ada-holder can delegate voting power to DReps
* Voting - registered voters (i.e. DReps) can cast votes on proposed governance actions
* Outcome - community participants can view voting rationales and results all governance actions
* Proposal Discussion - where the community has open discussions and share ideas

### GovTool Functions

1. Delegate your Ada to active DReps listed on the DRep directory section of the govtool. From the dashboard, click “View DRep Directory” to find a suitable DRep.
2. Click “Register” to become a DRep, get ada delegation, vote on-chain on governance actions, and participate in the decision-making process
3. On Govtool, an ada-holder can also register as a “Direct Voter”, voting on Governance actions without seeking delegation from other community members.
4. From the dashboard, you can select “View Governance Actions” to see drafted proposals, live voting on governance actions, voting outcomes and the ratification threshold of all governance bodies.
5. To propose a proposal for governance action, DReps and direct voters with a 100,000 Ada deposit can select the card “Propose” and do so.
