# Testnet Faucets

Practice becoming a DRep using the testnet faucet available to the Cardano community. Get access to test ada and vote on proposed actions.

## Running Testnets on Govtool

Testnets faucets is a web-based service issuing Cardano users with Test ada (tAda) to explore the features of tools (e.g., Preview Govtool) without transacting on the mainnet with real ada.

## How to Receive Test ada (tAda)

* Visit the Cardano docs website and select “testnets” at the top navigation menu. Or click this URL [request the testnet](https://docs.cardano.org/cardano-testnets/tools/faucet), to be redirected to the page&#x20;
* To receive tAda from the testnet faucet, first, you choose your environment, in this case, a “Preview Testnet”
* Then you proceed by choosing a defined action, i.e., “Receive test Ada” action
* Enter your wallet address in the form field titled “Address”. This is the address you would receive the test Ada&#x20;
* Enter an assigned API key (optional) to access any additional funds allocated to you
* Check the recaptcha box, click on “Request funds” to receive test Ada in after a few minutes

Users receive 1000tADA per transaction from the testnet faucet.
