# Creating a Wallet Account

A step-by-step guide on how to setup a native Cardano wallet.

This tutorial is recorded using the Preview Network function and test ada on the Eternl wallet. Users who want live interaction with the wallet must choose the mainnet functionality.

### Here’s How to Create an Account on Eternl Web App:

Use this tutorial to replicate creating single DRep accounts on specific Cardano wallets with governance functionality 

Hint: Each DRep ID is uniquely linked to a single wallet address. Do not use different wallets to register the same DRep ID or metadata.

Download the Eternl wallet app or browser extension for this tutorial. You can equally use any wallet listed with governance functions. (see list)

Set an access PIN code to secure your wallet on a browser extension or app. If you have an already existing wallet, simply re-enter your PIN code&#x20;

Choose the mainnet to register the account on-chain when ready to vote on governance actions. The network you choose must have an “Active” indicator at the top.

For this tutorial, switch to the preview network to test on governance activities beforehand. Users with old Eternl wallets can open the settings menu to switch between the mainnet and the preview network.

Click on “create a new wallet”, then copy your unique recovery seed phrase for safekeeping or login if you have an existing wallet account.

When setting up a new wallet, choose the number of accounts you want and provide suitable names for the accounts, e.g. “DRepChain”

You then create a spending password on the account to complete the sign-up process.
